We`re not just driving to Mongolia for an adventure, we`re asking for sponsorship to raise money for 2 fabulous charities in Mongolia - the Mercy Corps and the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation. We`re also collecting items for Sworde Teppa, and will be delivering them in person to the charity in Tajikistan. Take a look at the quick rundown of each of the charities, and hopefully you`ll want to sponsor us for as little as £1 !

Christina Noble Childrens Foundation

The Christina Noble Childrens Foundation helps kids in Mongolia who are living awful lives on the streets and in the sewers. Here are a few of the projects they are currently running to get kids off the stinking streets and drains and give them a fighting chance:

  • The Sunshine Ger Village Project provides a shelter for street children and orphans in Ulaanbaatar. The shelter consists of 11 gers and a kindergarten.

  • Healthcare Project operates a clinic at the Charity Hospital to provide free health care and medication to street children. There is also a mobile night clinic for street children that travels the city’s streets, bringing emergency medical treatment, medical advice and small treats to children otherwise abandoned to the ice and snow.
  • Give a Ger Campaign is an emergency fund established to provide families in danger of becoming homeless, or otherwise inadequately or dangerously accommodated, with a family home of a Mongolian Ger.

    Sword Teppa

    Sworde Teppa

    Sworde Teppa does all kinds of great stuff in Tajikistan - one of the most poor and under developed countries in Central Asia. Top of the list for us is the great work they do looking after kids and providing them with education. English teaching, health and hygine, malaria control and poverty reduction are amoungst some of the other aspects they are involved in.

    Mercy Corps Mongolia

    Mercy Corps Mongolia supports rural communities to meet their economic and social needs, helping individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient, diversified in their production, and better linked to local, regional and national markets.
    Over the past five years Mercy Corps Mongolia has established a strong reputation across the vast Gobi region, and continues to work with business associations and local organizations to ensure a robust economy that preserves ancient traditions.
    Currently they run the following projects in Mongolia:

  • Gobi Regional Economic Growth Initiatives (Gobi Initiative)
  • Rural Agribusiness Support Program (RASP) and the Training
  • Advocacy and Networking Programme
