The Car
So here we are, after considering a number of options we have decided to use a Suzuki SJ410 for the Mongol Rally, but we are not making it as easy as that. In November 2007 we bought our first Suzuki a 1988 SJ410, but after starting work to ready her we discovered that she wasn’t in good enough shape to face the challenge. So we bought another. In April 2008 we purchased a 1992 Suzuki SJ413 which is in much better condition, but this again has issues. The engine is 1.3l and we can have no more than a 1.0l engine……….
so we are going to combine the two together.
Here they are, our 1988 SJ410 from which we are taking the engine……

and our newly acquired SJ413 into which we are going to transplant the engine……..

So this is the plan……with the help of Harding Motors in Kemsing we are going to take the engine out of the first car and put it into the second SJ…..what could go wrong? Well keep checking back to see how the operation goes.
